Types of dentures

There are various types of complete dentures. A complete denture replaces all of your missing teeth. A partial denture replaces teeth when there are a few missing teeth between healthy teeth. 

A conventional full denture replaces all of your teeth and is placed in your mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed which may take several months. In the mean time, an immediate temporary denture is inserted when the remaining teeth are removed. With immediate dentures, the denture wearer does not have to be without teeth during the healing period.

Even if you wear full dentures, you still must take good care of your mouth. Brush with a soft-bristled brush your gums, tongue and palate every morning before you insert your dentures to stimulate circulation in your tissues and help remove plaque and evening after you remove your dentures.
